This is where you can manage all the delivery methods you may have for your shop. Initially there are four default methods that you can edit when you first open your shop.
To find your deliveries, click Settings on the side menu:
Then click Manage deliveries:
The deliveries index page is where you can see, at a glance, all the delivery methods you currently have available. The name of each delivery method is listed, along with the price, status, and visibility to the customer.
To edit a delivery, simply click the method you wish to edit on the delivery index screen, and then you will enter the delivery edit screen.
The name field is where you can set or amend the name of this delivery method. Keep in mind that this name will be visible to your customers once this method is activated.
There are two kinds of delivery tariffs: Fixed Rate and Variable Rate.
Fixed Rate is for when you are shipping products of a similar size and weight, so that your cost of each delivery is about the same. In this case you would set a fixed price for the delivery of all orders using this delivery method.
Variable Rate is better suited for shipping products of different weight since heavier orders tend to cost more to ship. In this case you would set a price depending on the weight of each order, so that heavier orders have a higher shipping cost. When Variable Rate is selected then you can click on the Add rate button to add another cost-tier to this delivery method.
If either Free delivery or No weight limit are checked then the Price and Weight Limit fields will be un-editable.
This option is only visible if there is more than one tariff available, or Free delivery is not set.
A free delivery rate or a subsidised delivery rate can be set if an order is over a certain amount. For example, if an order was more than £50 in total then the customer could get free delivery.
This is where you can include instructions or general information regarding this delivery method. The text in this field can be seen by your customers so try to keep it useful and informative.
You can set when you will be dispatching orders that use this delivery method.
The This delivery dispatches drop down menu is where you can set when you will start to ship the order: on the Same day, on the Next day, or In 2 days or more. You can also set a Cut-off time so that any orders placed after that point will be added onto the next day’s schedule.
The Estimated delivery time is when you think the order will reach your customer by. You can specify Same day, Next day, or Other if you need to set a range of days.
Using “This delivery dispatches on” you can set which days of the week this delivery method will ship out on.
Using “This delivery arrives on” you can set which days of the week this delivery method will arrive at its location.
Each delivery method can either apply to all products by having the Applies to all productstickbox checked, or you can set which products it can apply to by creating a rule. For more information on how to set and create rules take a look at the rules guides.
You can set whether or not to make this delivery method visible and active in your shop right away. Only Active delivery methods can be used. Delivery methods that are not visible in the shop can still be used on manual orders.
